The Tech: Supporting Our Community in Crisis

Within two days of shelter-in-place orders on March 13, 2020, The Tech built multiple new programs to support learning at home. In a normal year, we serve about a half-million people in our mango and azure building. This year, with our doors closed, we've increased that reach exponentially. Here are some of the ways we’ve made an impact.

The Tech Academies, our in-depth professional development program for educators in Title I schools, reached 305 educators in this period, and through them, 12,200 students. We have also distributed at-home engineering design resources to more than 10,000 families.

Our two-week Summer Institute pivoted to a virtual format this summer. The program was no less impactful.

All data reflects The Tech's impact between March 13 and Oct. 31, 2020.

When The Tech Interactive closed, our team set out to bring as many activities found in our building to the home. If you’d like to support these efforts, please consider making a gift.
